Municipal Resolution

The 2018 Guilford, Maine Spirit of America Foundation Tribute honors Christina “Kirsty” Pratley for commendable community service.

A Resolution by the Selectmen of the Town of Guilford as follows:

Whereas, Kirsty initiated the first and ongoing Free Thanksgiving Dinner event in Guilford in 2003 and has dedicated her time and energies organizing, soliciting other volunteer help, preparing food, gathering paper products and providing for entertainment, and feeding well over 1000 citizens over the years; and

Whereas, Kirsty is well known for assisting seniors one-on-one at Community Fitness Center to maintain agility and general health; and

Whereas, Kirsty is a consistent volunteer at the local hospital, helping with community dinners, and other events; and

Whereas, Kirsty participates in many walk, runs and events including the March of Dimes Parade, Community Fitness Turkey Trot, Piscataquis River Festival and others for any and all charitable purposes; and

Whereas, Kirsty coordinates infection control education clinics for local nursing homes and volunteers at municipal organizations such as Milo Health Fair, Piscataquis Valley Fair First Aid Station, Guilford Girl Scouts; and

Whereas, Kirsty has provided additional service to our town as a sworn ballot clerk;

Therefore Be it Resolved by the Selectmen of the Town of Guilford, in sincere gratitude and appreciation, that Christina “Kirsty” Pratley is hereby recognized for her exemplary citizenship and outstanding achievements and honors brought upon this community, with the 2018 Guilford Spirit of America Foundation Tribute.

Municipal Resolution

The 2014 Solon Maine Spirit of America Foundation Tribute honors Michael Golden for commendable community service.

A Resolution

Providing for:  Recognition of Michael Golden.

Be it Resolved by the Selectmen of the Town of Solon as follows:

Whereas, Michael Golden has served on the Solon Budget Committee since 1988; and

Whereas, Michael has served on the Planning Board since 1988 and as Chair since 1991; and

Whereas, Michael has served on the Comprehensive Plan Committee as Chair from 1989 to 1992; and

Whereas, Michael has served on the Fire Station Building Committee in 1990 and as Chair of the Town Garage Building Committee in 1994; and

Whereas, Michael has served on the Northern Kennebec Regional Planning Commission from 1991 to 1994; and

Whereas, Michael has served as Moderator at Special Town Meetings

Be it Resolved by the Selectmen of the Town of Solon that Michael Golden is hereby recognized for his great achievements and honors that he has brought upon this community with the 2014 Solon Spirit of America Foundation Tribute; and

Be it Further Resolved that a copy of this resolution be appropriately framed and presented to Michael Golden for appropriate display.

Municipal Resolution

The 2013 Starks, Maine Spirit of America Foundation Tribute honors Linda LaRose for commendable community service.

Be it Resolved by the Starks Selectmen of the Town of Starks as follows:

Whereas, beginning in 2011, Linda LaRose took the leadership role in determining storage-shelving needs for the newly formed Starks Public Library and organized the annex and its contents to accommodate new shelving;

Whereas Linda planned and organized two-five session Move More Kids Summer Physical Fitness/Nutrition-Reading Programs with each session reaching up to 35 Starks children;

Whereas Linda organized two Starks Christmas concerts involving dozens of children and reaching over 75 individuals during each performance;

Whereas Linda organized Starks’ first Open House Reunion with over 125 individuals in attendance;

Whereas Linda has promoted literacy by arranging numerous opportunities to read stories to groups of children followed by related craft activities;

Be it Resolved by the Starks Selectmen that Linda LaRose is hereby recognized for her outstanding achievements and honors she has brought upon this community with the 2013 Starks Spirit of America Foundation Tribute.
